Describe how your leadership experiences, professional or volunteer, have had an impact on fostering change. (Limit 250 words)
I believe that change is not only possible but inevitable. Throughout my career and personal life, I have been mentored and guided by many great leaders. These experiences have allowed me to reflect on my own practices and commit to being a reflection of my words. I lead by example, fostering knowledge in those I supervise and lead. As a servant leader, I believe my success is contingent on creating a path for others to succeed. My professional leadership roles include Special Education Supervisor, Principal, and Director. In my personal life, I have volunteered extensively through my sorority, serving as Vice President and President. In all these roles, I strive to be a great mentor, colleague, and friend, committed to fostering positive change.
Members of the MASE Executive Committee are typically leaders who are already equipped with strong communication and collaboration skills. Describe up to three additional skills you would bring to the executive committee and how you believe they would be beneficial. (Limit 150 words).
I have a very strong equity stance. I believe and strive to make sure every decision I make is one that is equitable and is for the best interest of the targeted audience. I am a humble leader and do not let titles define me or blow up my ego.
