MNSELF:  Minnesota Special Education Leaders Foundation

MNSELF is a tax-exempt 501c3:  a charitable nonprofit organization created to raise funds to sponsor leadership training for current and aspiring directors of special education.
MNSELF application process
Individuals or organizations that provide leadership training and wish to seek financial support must submit a written proposal to the MNSELF Board of Directors.
What will MNSELF sponsor?
Leadership in special education requires extensive and on-going knowledge to address the ever-changing challenges presented by students with unique learning, health, and social needs. Special education leaders must stay current with the latest research-based instructional practices and technology to ensure best outcomes for students. Equally important, special education leaders must remain resilient in the face of legal, ethical, and fiscal challenges, so their experience and training can inspire teachers and specialists to provide highly-effective education and services to students.

Through fundraising events, MNSELF is able to sponsor:
  • workshops to encourage and help individuals determine if they wish to pursue a career as a special education administrator;
  • training and mentorship for new special education administrators;
  • training and support activities for veteran special education administrators;
  • training and support for others who provide leadership in educating Minnesota’s children and youth with disabilities.
