MASE Day at the Capitol: February 24, 2027
Special education administrators and leaders from across Minnesota are invited to attend MASE’s 2027 Day at the Capitol in St. Paul. With legislators making important budget and policy decisions in 2027, it is especially important for special education leaders to have a strong presence at the Capitol. This is an opportunity to educate and connect directly with state legislators about the funding, policies, and legislative proposals that affect special education programs, staffing, services, and the students and families that MASE members serve.

SCHEDULE:
10:00 AM: CHECK-IN at the Capitol Vault
10:15 AM: WELCOME AND LEGISLATIVE BRIEFING: Review public policy issues, political dynamics, and logistics of the day
11:00 AM: PANEL/SPEAKERS: with Education Committee Chair/leads
12:00 - 1:00 PM: LUNCH provided in the Capitol Vault
12:00 - 3:00 PM: INDIVIDUAL LEGISLATIVE MEETINGS: Time block for individual legislative meetings with specific House and Senate members (will be pre-scheduled for you!), as well as time to attend committee meetings, floor sessions, and more.

DETAILS: Additional logistics (parking, attire, etc.) will be sent to registered attendees. We will provide all handouts, a policy agenda and political briefing, lunch, and schedule the appointments to meet with your legislators. The most important thing you can do it register and attend! Thank you!
