Don't Fall for Email Spoofing
Date postedApril 20, 2026
A few of our Board members recently reached out to let us know that someone has sent email to them impersonating a MASE leader, asking the Board members to contact this leader. They saw that the email was actually sent by someone in the UK—not our leader.
If you get an email like this, do not forward it. Forwarding a malicious email can be dangerous, as it brings more opportunity for someone to click on a phishing link or attachment. We recommend maintaining details of the email, such as the subject line and email address it came from (or perhaps taking a screen shot of the email), but deleting the email otherwise. Please let Laurie Pumper (laurie.pumper@mnase.org) at the MASE Office know if you receive an email and we will monitor the situation.
We appreciate your help in keeping us all safe from phishing attacks!
