MASE Special Education Administrator of the Year Award

nominations are due January 13, 2023.
The MASE Board of Directors established this award for members in the spring of 1991, and the first awards were presented at the 1992 Spring Conference. The purpose of the award is to honor one or more administrators from throughout Minnesota for excellence in special education leadership.

Nomination
  1. Individuals may be self-nominated or nominated by someone else.
  2. Nominees must be a practicing administrator and a member of MASE.
  3. Nominees must have a minimum of five years administrative experience.
  4. Nominees must have demonstrated a concern for students with disabilities and their families.
  5. Nominees should be able to demonstrate active involvement in professional and community affairs.
  6. Nominations must be made on the official MASE award nomination form, available through the MASE office.
  7. Nominations must be made by the nomination due date.
Selection
  1. The Nominating Committee serves as the selection committee.
  2. The Nominating Committee determines the selection process.
Award Presentation
The award is made at the MASE/MASA Spring Conference, where the recipient is presented with an individual plaque. A news release is distributed to pertinent media in the recipient's coverage area.

2022 Special Education Administrator of the Year Award Recipient
MASE has named Cheryl Hall, Director of Special Services of Northfield Public Schools, the 2022 Special Education Administrator of the Year. Hall has received this award for her dedication to students with disabilities and their families, and her active involvement in professional and community affairs. She will be honored at a statewide recognition ceremony during the MASA/MASE Spring Conference held March 10-11, 2022. Read the full news release online here.
